The weather in Toronto has been amazing recently - cool, but sunny with blue skies and fantastic autumn leaves in the trees.
I've been taking Farfl out in the afternoons - it's too cold in the morning and the evening and she simply refuses. So we go for a long walk after lunch - usually about an hour - and finish up in the park where Farfl loves to chase and chew sticks. Hooray!
Okay, so my first mistake was dropping my fleece on the floor.
Once Farfl got hold of it it became her new bed. And she hasn't given it up yet.
The only thing that distracts her is when my kid comes home.

Farfl was "chillin'" (as I believe the kids say) and I couldn't resist taking some pictures of her.
I knitted the blanket for Farfl before she was old enough to come home. Click on the "More" link to see more pictures. (more...)
I know I only just wrote about Bloomingtails but I just got a Tweet from them (you can follow them on Twitter here) reminding me that Halloween is coming up.
I saw this costume for Farfl but for some reason forgot to order it in my excitement about getting Farfl's custom-made fleece playsuit for the winter.
I just went back online and ordered it - their selection is fantastic! Really delicious outfits and again, reasonably priced. Check them out! Go to the Bloomingtails website and click on the Costumes link on the left hand side. Let me know if you find anything for you chihuahua!

Every chihuahua loves a handknitted sweater!
It's been getting a little cooler in Toronto these past few days.
I'd been meaning to knit Farfl a few sweaters for the Autumn, but had been busy knitting socks for myself and my girlfriend Sarah.
Then one evening last week when Farfl balked at going outside I knew I had to pull my finger out! (more...)
I'm always on the lookout for excellent online clothing stores for my chihuahua.
Until now I hadn't found one that had a wide collection of products with a decent price range and, most importantly for me up in Canada, reasonable shipping and handling costs. (more...)
While Farfl was staying at Shangri-Paw she met a pug puppy called Rocco.
They were pretty close in size and became firm friends. Click on each picture to see the full story. Thanks so much to Sharon Herman for posting these on Facebook!

Every year at the end of August our family goes away to a festival in the Laurentian mountains in Quebec. My husband teaches, my daughter runs around with her friends and I relax and listen to music all day long by the lake.
This year was the first year we've had to consider what to do with Farfl. (more...)
Finding a dog-friendly hotel is no easy feat.
Last weekend was visiting day at my kid's camp. In Sudbury. Which will mean nothing to anyone unless they live in Ontario, Canada. (more...)
It was a long day and she coped admirably!

On Sunday we decided to walk down to Afrofest because Oumou Sangaré was playing - one of my husband's favourites. Then we thought - why not take the dog? (more...)
